Sabetha, KS is located on the border of Nemaha and Brown Counties.
U.S. Highway 75 separates the counties. Brown County contains the Sabetha Industrial
park and half of the Highway 75 commercial district. The residential and downtown
business districts are contained with Nemaha County.
Business and Industry
Sabetha offers a vibrant and growing business district. The industry of Sabetha is
widely recognized among the strongest in rural Northeast
Kansas. Firms focusing on the
production of automated production systems, food products, and extrusion systems create an
interconnected network of industry that creates more jobs than the city has
population!
People travel from up to 100 miles away to work in Sabetha. The public school system
consists of three different buildings - one for elementary, one for middle school, and one
for high school students all located in a single campus. The Sabetha Industrial Development
Corporation, SIDC has approximately 50 acres available in its fully
developed industrial park. The city also has a variety of incentives
available to businesses that locate in the community.
Health Care
Health services include 5 general practitioners, 4 dentists, 2 optometrists, and
2 chiropractors. The Sabetha Community Hospital has a 24- hour
emergency room service, surgery, and
obstetrical care. Community ambulance service is available as well as Life Line and
emergency helicopter service. Sabetha is recently completed a major
hospital renovation that will deliver state of the art health
care technologies to the hospital's patients.
Sabetha is home to two nursing home facilities,
two assisted living facilities, an intermediate care
facility for older adults and two group homes. Additionally, for senior convenience
Sabetha has two retirement villages and a senior citizen high rise complex.
Recreation
Three public parks, a public swimming pool, five baseball/softball/soccer fields,
tennis, and racquetball courts provide recreation for the community. Sabetha has two
public lakes, one with skiing permitted, and good fishing found on both. Sabetha has
a country club with a private pool and a challenging 9-hole golf course.
